Gallery of fibers, fabrics, and plants
made into functional objects
These are a selection of the finished objects I have made and continue to make. I have been working with dyes and cloth since 2001, and I mark 2007 as the year I really began knitting with a passion and for my growing fiber arts career.
After moving back to the United States from southern Vietnam, where I had been living and teaching, I felt a strong and sudden urge to immerse myself in fibers. This gallery represents the years since of hands-on learning, designing, experimenting, and devotion. I have been based in Western North Carolina for most of my life, and spend my time mostly in Asheville, Penland, and Brasstown.
I am currently working to immerse myself in basketry, specifically whole rod willow and bark weaving. I earn a living from my batik studio and traveling to teach fiber & textile workshops of all kinds.
